I feel very to lucky to have met the Carrell family at the beginning of this year! I have the pleasure of seeing them every Sunday thanks to Ryan asking a friend of mine if I would be interested in taking a few photographs of The Southeast Project
, a church plant he leads. It was a great experience, and I have been going back every Sunday that I can ever since! Ryan and his wife Jill are a super fun couple with an adorable, sweet and spunky little lady, Emily, as well as a new baby on the way! Spending time with their family and photographing this memorable time in their life is what makes me love my job so much. It doesn’t feel like work when you are walking around the city with new friends!
When we were planning their session, I knew we needed to expand out of the average park setting and find something that had a great deal of meaning with the Carrells. They are true Hoosiers with Indianapolis (especially Southside!) pride. Don’t try to meet them in the entire month of May – unless you plan on being at the track! Anyways, we ended up starting at the Simon building downtown, a spot where Ryan and Jill used to pass through on their walks downtown when they were dating. We walked our way to Monument Circle for some great people watching, and downtown was hopping because of the Indy 500 that weekend! We ended our night at Rocket Fizz
, an awesome soda and candy shop! Ryan happens to be a bit of a root beer connoisseur, Jill told me all about the variety of candy and helped me feed my chocolate addiction and Emily walked around in amazement…it was so much fun and I loved the shop!
